Question by alorarhi: If you can only get one of Dr. Yang’s Qigong dvds or books to get started in Qigong which one would be best?
I want to learn Qigong and on my research Dr. Yang’s work looks to be the most knowledgeable and helpful material for learning it. The other more western approaches seem superficial. However I don’t have the means to go out and buy a library on the subject. I can only get one thing at a time so I want to be sure I don’t get something unhelpful. Keep in mind I’m a complete novice but a quick study (not necessarily a quick doer).

My suggestion to you is to take a Qigong class first. If you haven’t learn or practice Qigong before, you may not have any idea what they are talking about in the DVD. It seem easy from the DVD, but you will understand more when learn it from a real person. After you understand the move, the breath, then when you watch the DVD, it will make more sense to you. Forget about the book. Go with DVD.
