Question by Stephanie F: How many kids can I babysit in my home before I need a daycare license?
I live in Massachusetts and I cannot find a direct answer on this one. I am looking for something that specifically says that you can or cannot. I do not want to know the licensing requirements, I already know them. The question is “Do I need a license if I only have 2 or 3 kids that I care for?” Thank you everyone!

If you are working as a nanny in their home you are an employee and they must pay SS for you and fill out employment tax returns. See IRS.gov to see what they need to do if you want to help them stay legal. If you run a day care in your home you need a license from the first child. The parents need to get forms to show what they paid for their taxes and you need to have the home inspected for safety.
If you don’t do it right you can get in real trouble if a child is injured because you didn’t have a safe playground or they had access to the kitchen and got burned.

My family and I are permanent legal immigrants in the United States and we live in Alabama State.My wife and I have not been able to get any job yet.Because of that,we have not been able to take any health insurance policy yet.Our applications to get Medicaid and ALL KIDS for our 2 kids have been denied because our children are not US citizens. Does anyone know any agency or organization in Alabama State, apart from Medicaid/ALL KIDS that can help us have subsidized health insurance for our kids?

I am looking for some easy and fun things for a group of kids to make. To give you some background, this is for a group of kids in a summer camp. In the past we have made: pizza on an english muffin, homemade ice cream, “dirt”, and banana pudding. Any other suggestions for future recipes?

How do you get your kids signed up for toys for tots? Or the Christmas Food Baskets. I live in Waukegan Illinois and I lost my job in October and I’m on unemployment. I qualified for WIC, and my two girls qualified for all kids insurance. I tried calling the salvation army in the area but the prerecorded message said they are not taking on any new clients until January. Money is really tight.

I’ve sewn before, and I’m pretty good. I’ve made everything from my own pin cushion, to a shoe bag, to pajama pants! And more. But I’ve done it all with a pattern. How do I go about designing my own clothing without patterns? I like things like simple t-shirts, tank tops, cardigans/sweaters, yoga pants, and skinny jeans. I’m 14, so keep it young, no old people looks, lol, well, anything’s appreciated, thankyou!!

You could always take something you already own, turn it inside out and trace on newspaper to make a pattern to cut the fabric by. By turning it inside out, you will have the item and the seam allowance needed to sew the piece. As you sew more, you can make changes to the pattern you cut out to make the piece of clothing more your own design.
