I read to NEVER hold your breath during a Yoga session. How true is that?

Question by Roland: I read to NEVER hold your breath during a Yoga session. How true is that?
I read that you should never hold your breath while meditating or doing some yoga. But a lot of form of Yoga asks you to hold your breath in different ratio like 4-7-8 etc.. What is your personaly experience breathing ratio? Thanks

yoga promotes the flow of chi or prana so yes there are spiritual aspects of it, and being someone who works with astral/spiritual energy on a daily routine, i know for a fact yoga greatly amplifies the energy

How does yoga strengthen the body?

Posted by admin On July - 19 - 2011Comments Off

Question by awesome girl: How does yoga strengthen the body?
Okay, I’m planning on taking yoga five days a week next term to gain flexibility and strength. I’m not into the whole “chakras” ideology, nor am I a spiritual person.

I am interested in yoga because it is challenging and feels good. So, if I were to take each class seriously, how much of a gain in strength might I be able to see? Has anyone had muscle gains after yoga practice? Is yoga a good alternative to strength-training in a weights room?

I’m just curious, and appreciate your answers!

Yoga isn’t only about your flexibility. It also helps relax your mind. I like doing yoga at least twice a week. It helps me forget about all the nonsense going on in my life and just relax. I don’t go to a yoga place I have a video and do it on the wii. I love doing it and you should definitely stick with it. ITs really healthy to be Flexible and relaxed.
